Educational institutions routinely process paperwork containing sensitive information about faculty and students. Privacy legislation such as FACTA (the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act) and GLB (the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) has made it the law to securely dispose of educational records. In addition to being a legal requirement, secure document destruction helps to protect your educational institution from lawsuits and public embarrassment; safeguard students and staff from fraud and identity theft; save you space, time and money; and preserve confidentiality. With the widespread and increasing use of electronic records, all kinds of educational organizations are now finding it necessary to securely dispose of old paper documents in large quantities. At The Paper Depot, we are always up to date on the laws and regulations that affect the education sector:
The Paper Depot has been in the document destruction business since 1981, providing secure and legally compliant shredding and media destruction services at affordable prices to schools, colleges, and universities. We will help your educational institution, large or small, become legally compliant and secure in addition to increasing your space and improving your efficiency.
We can customize a document destruction and recycling plan* that meets your organization's specific needs and doesn't interfere with your day-to-day operations. We offer on-site and off-site document destruction services on a regularly scheduled or one-time basis. For regularly scheduled document destruction, we provide locked consoles at no cost for you to keep at your facility and deposit your sensitive documents into. Then at regularly appointed times, we will either securely transport the documents in locked containers back to our facility for destruction in our state-of-the-art commercial shredder, or we will bring a shredding truck to your facility to destroy the documents on-site. In either case you may witness the destruction of your documents, and we will provide you with a certificate of destruction. One-time document destruction is also available off-site or on-site and includes a certificate of destruction as well as the option to witness the shredding process.
